Conservation

Reducing Utility Costs

There are many aspects of conservation. At UMS, our goal is to reduce utility costs which in turn reduces the use of fossil fuels and their emissions. Some conservation efforts, such as improving insulation or upgrading to a more efficient central boiler, are in the property’s hands. However, since the largest impact is in the hands of the tenants and their usage habits, billing tenants for their usage has been shown to significantly reduce utility usage.
